Office records reflecting Lonsdale's responsibilities including management of commencement; farewell dinner for former president Donald H. Riddle and inauguration of the new president, Gerald W. Lynch; fifteenth anniversary celebrtation; memorial services for deceased faculty; and presidential receptions. In the subject matter series are minutes of seminars, reports and papers defining the mission of the college; and evaluations of the college made by various accrediting bodies; files pertaining to political activity of college administration following the New York City fiscal crisis, 1976-1977. Reports bear on college-related activities of President Lynch in such areas as jail overcrowding, casino gambling, and the death penalty. Minutes of numerous bodies are included. Records from other series include minutes of administrative retreats held to discuss goals and problems of the college, including problems associated with open admissions, faculty evaluations, and curricular decisions. Files contain information on planning and programming for special events including granting of an honorary degree to New York City Police Commissioner Michael J. Codd. Also, research files of Lonsdale on the history of the KTW plastic coated, armor piercing bullet, which became an increasing threat to police officers who sought safety in bullet-proof vests.
